Solutions Engineer
Job Summary
Join a dynamic team as a Solutions Engineer, serving as the technical expert for the sales organization in a fast-paced pre-sales environment. You will own the full technical sales cycle, from demos to pilots, while partnering with account executives to drive value-based selling and close new business. This role is perfect for a scientist with strong communication skills who thrives under pressure and delivers results.
Essential Functions
- Own the full technical pre-sales process, from initial demos through business value case development, technical evaluations, and pilot execution
- Architect and build custom demonstrations, workshops, and pilots tailored to prospects' R&D workflows
- Partner closely with Account Executives and stakeholders to drive value-based selling and close net new revenue
- Lead technical evaluations and demo sessions, crafting compelling narratives on transforming R&D data management and innovation
- Mentor and manage new grad team members supporting technical evaluations
- Write scripts and configure integrations on the platform's integration server for custom prospect engagements
- Travel 25-50% to meet prospects and deliver on-site presentations and workshops
Required Qualifications
- Background in chemical engineering, chemistry, or materials science
- 4+ years in technical pre-sales, consulting, or digitalization roles (new PhD graduates with exceptional communication skills may be considered)
- Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or consultative selling at a technical company
- Experience building and demoing technical platforms to enterprise customers
- Strong technical background with coding skills and excellent communication
- Curiosity, action-bias, and confidence in sales contexts
Preferred Qualifications
- Management consulting experience with a science background
- Professional experience in R&D digitalization at a major chemical or materials company
- Deep domain knowledge in chemistry or materials science
- Understanding of enterprise R&D workflows and laboratory informatics systems
- Advanced degree with ML or computational focus

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range of $100,000 - $150,000 based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package for direct hire role.
