Assistant Project Manager
Job Summary
Join a dynamic construction management team as an Assistant Project Manager. Support project execution from buyout through closeout, including subcontractor coordination, budgeting, and compliance. Work in office and field environments to ensure projects meet quality standards and timelines.
Essential Functions
- Support project buyout by identifying qualified subcontractors and developing scopes of work
- Assist in estimating by soliciting subcontractor proposals and performing quantity takeoffs
- Contribute to project budgeting and maintain accurate records in management systems
- Oversee submittal processes and guide project engineers on complex items
- Manage RFI process for timely resolution of project issues
- Lead project meetings and coordinate team activities
- Handle permitting, inspections, and certificates of occupancy
- Assist with change order management, pay applications, and project closeout
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a Senior Project Engineer or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- Experience collaborating with subcontractors
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals, and contract documents
- Knowledge of AIA contract documents, specifications, building codes, and permitting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bluebeam and construction management software
- Background with general contractors on vertical construction projects
- OSHA 30 certification
- Knowledge of accounting principles, project budgeting, and pay applications
- Experience leading meetings and managing permitting processes
