Controller
Job Summary
We are seeking a high-impact Controller to build out the accounting function from the ground up in collaboration with the CFO. This is a builder's role designed for a leader who can establish policies, automate manual processes using modern tools, and eventually lead and grow a high-performing accounting team.
Essential Functions
- Own full-cycle AP/AR, GL accrual accounting, and the monthly close process
- Manage loan-level accounting from lock to settlement, including funding reconciliations and warehouse line activity
- Execute and document internal controls for SOC 1 Type II reporting
- Partner with the CFO on audit readiness and reporting
- Lead the transition to modern accounting platforms and automate manual workflows
- Produce board-ready and lender-ready financial reporting
- Build and scale the accounting team as the organization grows
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in mortgage lending accounting
- Experience in roles such as Controller or Senior Accounting Manager
- Deep knowledge of mortgage-specific accounting (origination, securitization, MSRs, or hedge accounting)
- Ability to establish policies and procedures in a growing environment

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $205,000 - $235,000 per year
