Founding Engineer

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Design and build agent-driven workflows for complex fiduciary and financial operations.
• Own the full agentic evaluation and annotation loop, including building on golden test sets and CI/CD integration.
• Develop and maintain a robust fiduciary ledger handling complex accounting events like splits and mergers.
• Collaborate directly with leadership and trust officers to translate operational pain points into technical requirements.
• Build integrations with third-party financial systems, payment rails, and compliance providers.
• Design and implement security-first infrastructure, including authentication, encryption, and full audit logs.
• Contribute to frontend development using the existing design system and component library.
• Lead projects from initial design through to production, shaping the long-term technical architecture.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 10 years of experience in backend, full-stack, or applied AI engineering.
• Proven track record of taking projects from a blank page to production in a startup environment.
• Expertise in production relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL (schema design, constraints, migrations).
• Ability to work independently, turning user needs into a structured backlog without constant oversight.
• Experience with agentic AI workflows, LLM evals, or agent harnesses.
• Strong security mindset and awareness of compliance-monitored systems.
• Ability to work on-site in New York City 5 days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience with Go, React, or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with DevOps and observability tools.
• Experience with infrastructure for high-security data environments.
