Staff Backend Engineer
Job Summary
As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will own critical system scaling, service architecture, and performance optimization while building the technical foundation for advanced AI capabilities. This is a hands-on role focused on architecting and implementing high-throughput solutions for institutional financial clients.
Essential Functions
- Architect and implement high-throughput backend solutions
- Own critical system scaling and infrastructure performance
- Design and manage complex service architectures
- Develop the technical foundation for AI-driven capabilities
- Manage end-to-end backend integrations and database scaling
Required Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of experience in backend engineering
- Proven track record of building and scaling backend systems
- Deep expertise with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL
- Production experience with AWS for architecting and operating systems
- Experience in high-growth technology environments
- Ability to manage complex integrations and infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot frameworks
- Experience in a high-growth startup environment (Series A to D)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $225,000 - $290,000 per year
