Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Deploy and sustain production software directly inside government and DoD IT environments
• Own the delivery lifecycle end-to-end from initial requirements through final fielding
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for mission owners, operators, and intelligence analysts
• Translate ambiguous field requirements into actionable, shipped software
• Scope and build low-cost pilots with government mission teams and execute full technical deployments
• Contribute hands-on backend code for large-scale text, multimedia, and geospatial data
• Navigate complex government IT ecosystems including RMF, IdAM, SIEM, and CDSs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and platform engineering teams

Required Qualifications

• Active U.S. TS clearance with SCI eligibility (or eligibility to obtain)
• 4+ years of full-stack engineering experience with strong backend fundamentals
• Proven experience deploying software within government or DoD IT environments
• Ability to own projects end-to-end in customer-embedded contexts with minimal oversight
• Proficiency in backend algorithms and production-grade code deployment
• U.S. citizenship and willingness to travel 20-30% to classified operational sites
• Strong communication skills and a passion for the defense sector

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with military operators or government officials
• Familiarity with React frontend frameworks
• Experience in defense technology or as a cleared contractor
