Forward Deployed Engineer
Job Summary
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical bridge between complex enterprise problems and scalable software solutions. You will work directly with executive stakeholders to transform messy legacy data into sophisticated systems that power intelligent automation.
Essential Functions
- Own client engagements from kickoff to launch, managing roadmaps and deliverables
- Collaborate with executives to map complex workflows and identify technical hurdles
- Take ownership of technical decisions, project timelines, and customer communications
- Integrate enterprise systems and disparate data into cohesive knowledge graphs and ontologies
- Design and build backends, data pipelines, and AI-driven applications
- Translate recurring customer needs into reusable infrastructure and shared integrations
- Manage technical trade-offs and provide clear updates to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 4 to 10 years of experience in software engineering or forward-deployed roles
- Proven experience in a startup environment or high-growth technology firm
- Strong technical depth in backend, data, infrastructure, or applied AI systems
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems with high agency
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leadership
- Experience working with enterprise systems, ERPs, and cloud platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a forward-deployed or deployment strategist role
- Experience as a technical founder or founding engineer
- Experience in the early-stage startup lifecycle (Seed through Series C)

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 - $210,000 per year
