Founding Member of Technical Staff
Job Summary
Join a high-growth startup as a Founding Member of Technical Staff to build and scale LLM-powered products and autonomous agents. You will have significant ownership over the technical roadmap and the ability to shape the company's direction in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Essential Functions
- Build and own AI agents from prototype to production, processing complex legislation and government filings into actionable products
- Develop and manage retrieval and data pipelines to extract information from inconsistent government sources
- Collaborate daily with non-technical policy teams to incorporate feedback and improve agent utility
- Design and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure and improve the accuracy of agent outputs
- Develop product surfaces including drafting tools, monitoring dashboards, and alerting systems
- Shape the company's technical roadmap and establish the technical playbook for growth
- Create new products and optimize existing architecture across the platform
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 8 years of experience as a full-stack, machine learning, or AI engineer
- Proven experience building and shipping LLM-powered products and agent workflows
- Expertise in retrieval pipelines and evaluation frameworks
- Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor
- Ability to work in a high-ambiguity environment with high ownership
- Strong collaboration skills with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work on-site in San Francisco

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $100,000 - $200,000 per year
