Senior Forward Deployed Engineer - Wellness
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to own the full technical delivery lifecycle for wellness clients. This hybrid engineer-architect role focuses on building AI-powered systems from pre-sales demonstrations through post-sale integration and production deployment. You will work directly with leading digital and location-based fitness providers while also shaping the core product based on real-world insights.
Essential Functions
- Own full technical delivery for wellness clients including building demos, gathering requirements, running design sessions, implementing, and testing production systems end-to-end
- Architect and build AI agents and insight products using platform tools such as feature stores, knowledge bases, and agentic context packages
- Integrate with client data systems including CRMs and wellness applications while managing data ingestion, ETL pipelines, and heterogeneous data sources
- Collaborate directly with clients' data and technical teams on calls to translate workflows into production AI-orchestrated solutions
- Feed field learnings back into the core platform, influencing product direction through real-world client patterns
- Design complete end-to-end system architectures and produce architecture diagrams for complex implementations
Required Qualifications
- 5-15 years of experience as a software engineer with production engineering background
- Experience owning full technical delivery for clients including pre-sales, scoping, and post-sale integration
- Proven ability to build and deploy complex, customer-facing software systems end-to-end
- Strong software architecture skills with ability to design full systems, make integration decisions, and articulate tradeoffs
- Client-facing communication skills including presenting to executives and running technical working sessions
- Fluency in modern programming languages including JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and Python
- Experience building data and machine learning pipelines with ETL/ELT processes
- Entrepreneurial mindset with background as a founding engineer or at a high-growth startup
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in formal machine learning or internal data science work on healthcare-related projects
- Background building LLM systems or AI agents including prompt engineering, function calling, and observability
- Previous experience in wellness, fitness, or healthcare technology environments
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing multiple priorities

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $170,000 to $205,000 depending on experience and location, plus performance bonus and equity. Comprehensive benefits package included.
