Forward Deployed Research Analyst
Job Summary
This is a high-impact role at the forefront of AI adoption in finance. You will embed directly with client investment teams to understand their workflows, identify opportunities for transformation, and build production-grade AI agents and skills that fundamentally change how they operate. As a bridge between investment professionals and platform engineering, you will also provide critical product feedback and contribute to a growing knowledge base of best practices across research, risk, and data science.
Essential Functions
- Embed with clients on-site to understand current investment workflows, identify high-leverage automation opportunities, and deploy production-grade AI solutions
- Translate observed client processes into specific platform skills, agents, and data connectors that enhance research and decision-making
- Serve as a primary feedback channel by acting as a daily power user of the AI platform and delivering structured input to product and engineering teams
- Develop and expand the company's domain-specific knowledge base, including reusable skills and playbooks for research, risk management, data science, and operations
- Partner closely with engineering to ensure client needs are accurately reflected in platform capabilities and future development priorities
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in core equity research functions such as fundamental research, quantitative research, or data science at a top-tier hedge fund, asset manager, sell-side firm, or institutional investment organization
- Demonstrated track record of integrating AI tools into daily professional workflows with clear opinions on their practical strengths and limitations
- Multiple hands-on AI implementation projects, evidenced by personal repositories, side projects, or other practical applications
- Strong experience working with leading financial data platforms including Bloomberg, FactSet, Visible Alpha, PitchBook, or CapIQ
- Proven ability to build rapid trust with senior investors and C-suite executives through effective questioning and navigation of unstructured discussions
- Technical proficiency in Python, SQL, data APIs, and agentic AI frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-functional experience spanning research, risk management, and quantitative methods
- Prior client-facing or forward-deployed role in a financial technology or platform environment
- Experience building production AI workflows that deliver measurable improvements in investment processes

Education & Certifications

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, plus meaningful equity participation. Comprehensive benefits package included.
