Forward Deployed Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed directly with portfolio companies, rapidly ship agentic software into live operations, and own outcomes from integration through stabilization. This high-impact role blends deep technical execution with business acumen, allowing you to identify high-leverage opportunities, build production systems, and create reusable patterns that scale across multiple businesses. You will serve as the technical partner to operators while continuously improving deployment playbooks for future success.
Essential Functions
- Embed with portfolio companies to deeply understand their operating models, build operator trust, and pinpoint 2-3 highest-leverage opportunities for agentic software
- Build and ship initial agentic solutions including integrations, prompts, evaluations, and user interfaces using the core platform
- Monitor, tune, and operate deployed systems after launch, adjusting autonomy levels and ensuring smooth handoff to internal teams
- Act as the primary technical representative to general managers and operators, setting expectations and positioning solutions as strategic leverage
- Capture lessons learned from each deployment and codify them into reusable playbooks to accelerate future implementations in similar verticals
Required Qualifications
- 3-6 years of experience in full-stack, customer-facing software or forward deployed engineering roles
- Full-stack proficiency including TypeScript or Python backend, React frontend, and SQL, with ability to own end-to-end delivery independently
- Proven experience shipping production LLM or agentic software with evaluations, autonomy gating, and outcome tracking
- Prior embedded or customer-facing engineering background such as forward deployed, solutions engineering, or similar operate-and-deploy models
- Strong business instincts with ability to interpret financial statements, translate operational problems into technical solutions, and quickly earn trust from non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to travel frequently to portfolio company sites 2-3 days per week and based in or open to relocating to New York
Preferred Qualifications
- Background as a founder, founding engineer, or experience in private equity, consulting, or vertical SaaS environments
- Exposure to portfolio company operations, M&A integration, or similar operator settings
- Experience at well-known technology companies or high-growth startups with consistent career progression
- Strong executive presence and polished communication skills with C-suite and general managers

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranging from $180,000 to $260,000 depending on experience and qualifications. Competitive compensation package for high-impact technical talent.
