Forward Deployed Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer with 5-7 years of experience to embed directly with U.S. military and government customers. You will own the technical success of command and control systems in live operational environments, blending software engineering with field operations to deploy, troubleshoot, and enhance autonomous systems under pressure.
This role demands equal parts coding expertise and hands-on operational support, including rapid development based on direct operator feedback and feeding field insights back to the core product team.
Essential Functions
- Deploy and integrate command and control software on-site with military operators across domestic and international locations, with 50-75% travel
- Perform break-fix troubleshooting and rapid code development in the field, gathering requirements from operators and implementing solutions quickly
- Collaborate directly with drone operators, including supporting live missions involving aerial, maritime, or ground assets
- Capture and relay field insights and operational feedback to the core engineering team to drive product improvements
- Operate autonomously in ambiguous and resource-constrained environments, handling hardware integration, software development, and technical support as needed
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in full-stack software engineering or forward-deployed engineering roles
- U.S. citizenship or Green Card holder (no visa sponsorship available)
- Willingness to travel 50% or more domestically and internationally to coastal and water-adjacent sites
- Proven ability to work independently in high-pressure, ambiguous field conditions

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range is $180,000 to $240,000 base, plus competitive equity. Role includes comprehensive benefits and supports remote work within the U.S. with significant travel requirements.
