Technical Sourcer
Job Summary
As a Technical Sourcer you will partner closely with recruiters and hiring leaders to develop sourcing strategies for technical roles in AI, machine learning, research, software engineering, and related areas. This role focuses on building high-quality pipelines of passive candidates, creating targeted market maps, and delivering an excellent candidate experience from first contact. It is a hands-on individual contributor position that thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment where your curiosity and persistence directly impact talent acquisition success.
Essential Functions
- Develop sourcing strategies for technical roles across AI, machine learning, research, software engineering, and related functions
- Identify and engage high-caliber passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, professional networks, research communities, and other channels
- Build targeted market maps and talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs
- Write personalized outreach messaging that highlights company mission and opportunities
- Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to define target profiles and refine search approaches based on market feedback
- Assess candidate backgrounds, technical skills, motivations, and potential organizational fit
- Track pipeline metrics including response rates, conversions, and sourcing effectiveness in recruiting tools
- Experiment with new sourcing tools, search methods, communities, and AI-assisted techniques
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of technical sourcing experience, ideally in AI, high-growth technology, or similar technical environments
- Proven track record sourcing software engineers, machine learning engineers, research engineers, applied scientists, or related technical talent
- Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, and sourcing platforms
- Ability to understand technical profiles and translate hiring requirements into effective sourcing strategies
- Excellent written communication skills with experience crafting thoughtful candidate outreach
- Strong research instincts, attention to detail, organization, and consistent follow-through
- Experience working as an individual contributor in a fast-moving startup or high-growth setting
- Genuine enthusiasm for sourcing and connecting top talent with impactful opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the generative AI, LLM, agent, developer tools, or AI infrastructure ecosystem
- Experience sourcing from research communities, open-source projects, GitHub, conferences, or academic publications
- Background supporting early-stage or rapidly scaling startups
- Experience with talent intelligence, market mapping, and sourcing analytics
- Track record developing creative sourcing campaigns or using AI-assisted recruiting tools

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $130,000 to $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. This hybrid role requires regular on-site presence at our downtown San Francisco office to stay closely connected with teams and hiring managers.
