Founding Engineer, AI Platform
Job Summary
We are seeking a Founding Engineer to join the early team building an Enterprise Intelligence platform from scratch. This is a true 0-to-1 role for an entrepreneurial, product-minded full-stack engineer who has previously lived through early-stage company building, whether as a founder, founding engineer, or early technical hire.
You will own core platform development for AI agents while collaborating directly with customers to turn their needs into production-quality features. This position offers the rare opportunity to influence product direction, technical architecture, and company culture in a fast-moving AI startup environment.
Essential Functions
- Lead core platform development for AI agents, including triggers, tools, approvals, evals, memory, observability, and workflow execution
- Drive end-to-end product ownership from customer discovery and technical design through implementation, launch, and iteration
- Build full-stack components for core Enterprise Intelligence user interfaces and experiences
- Contribute to shaping the product roadmap, technical architecture, engineering practices, and early company culture
- Work across product, infrastructure, agents, evaluations, and customer workflows to convert early customer feedback into a scalable platform
- Collaborate directly with customers for discovery, debugging, and rapid product iteration
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in full-stack engineering with a focus on AI-native development
- Demonstrated 0-to-1 experience as a founder, founding engineer, or early technical hire at a startup
- Proven track record shipping AI-powered product features in production environments
- Strong backend development skills with full-stack proficiency as a plus
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
- Ability to work autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced startup settings
- Comfortable engaging directly with customers for product discovery and technical debugging

- Experience working at an AI lab or in open-source AI projects
- Background as an ex-founder or from very early-stage startup environments
- Formal engineering education from a strong technical program
- Passionate and opinionated about the future of AI-assisted software development

Education & Certifications

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $180,000 to $250,000 plus meaningful equity. Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes the opportunity to build significant ownership in an early-stage company.
