Senior Control Electronics Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Control Electronics Engineer to design and deliver real-time electronic control systems for advanced hypersonic strike vehicles. This hands-on role requires personally owning hardware from initial design through bring-up, debug, validation, and integration on flight-critical systems. You will join a small, elite team at a fast-moving defense technology company where you will define requirements, drive technical decisions, and collaborate directly with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams.
Essential Functions
- Design control electronics boards including motor controllers, actuator drivers, and feedback or control loops for current and future flight vehicles
- Own hardware end-to-end from PCB design through bring-up, integration, debug, and production support
- Develop systems using microcontrollers, microprocessors, and mixed-signal circuits with emphasis on real-time processing and control
- Collaborate closely with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Define technical requirements and drive key design decisions with full ownership of the system picture
- Support design-to-production processes including hardware validation and testing
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 15 years of experience in control or power electronics hardware design, including motor drivers or actuator controllers
- Hands-on experience with design, bring-up, and debug of control or power electronics PCBAs such as motor controllers, valve drivers, or actuator electronics
- Experience at a fast-paced startup or high-velocity hardware company in aerospace, defense, automotive, or robotics
- Demonstrated background in flight hardware or high-reliability systems
- Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal circuit design for motor drivers, power conversion, or precision control loops
- PCB design experience including schematic capture through layout, with Altium preferred
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded hardware including ARM, MCUs, and CAN bus
- BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-impact startup environments or competitive aerospace and defense organizations
- Background with real-time control systems in demanding applications
- Prior work on hypersonic, missile, or high-speed vehicle platforms
- Demonstrated ability to operate with high ownership in small, agile teams

Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, on-site position in the Los Angeles area.
