Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, product-oriented Full-Stack Software Engineer to drive key product development efforts and shape the future of our mental health platform. This role focuses on building intuitive experiences for patients and therapists, with an 80/20 split favoring front-end development across web and mobile. The ideal candidate thrives in 0-to-1 environments, works independently with entrepreneurial drive, and brings deep empathy for non-technical users to improve their workflows and outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Design and build intuitive, delightful user interfaces for patients and therapists across web and mobile platforms
- Implement and maintain scalable backend infrastructure to support core user-facing features
- Engage directly with users to gather feedback, understand needs, and iterate on product features
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Clinical, and cross-functional teams to conceptualize and deliver innovative solutions
- Build complex front-end web and mobile applications, with emphasis on communication features such as text, video, and audio
- Contribute to product ideation and help prioritize initiatives that deliver meaningful value to end users
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional full stack software development experience
- Proven track record building both backend infrastructure and frontend experiences from 0 to 1
- Proficiency in React, React Native, and Node.js
- Experience working at both large technology companies and high-growth startups
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, drive accountability, and improve team dynamics
- Deep empathy for non-technical users with a history of designing solutions that enhance their workflows
- Strong interest in mental health and the company's mission
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Next.js, Postgres, Python, REST APIs, and AWS or GCP
- Background building applications with real-time communication at their core
- TypeScript and Firebase experience
- Entrepreneurial drive and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- 10+ years of experience for candidates with a stronger backend focus

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $235,000, depending on experience and location. This is a hybrid role based in New York City with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office. The package includes competitive base pay, equity, and a full benefits program.
