Job Summary

We are seeking a full stack software engineer with a strong foundation in modern development practices and a genuine curiosity about how software can support investment research and quantitative workflows. You will help maintain, extend, and improve existing software and database systems while building new tools from scratch to support research, risk management, and automation initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to grow into a broader ownership position within a small, high-performing team. While finance knowledge is beneficial, it is not required. Substantial on-the-job learning in quantitative finance and data-driven domains will be supported over time.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain, extend, and improve existing software systems and databases that support quantitative research and risk management
  • Design and build new tools and automations from scratch to enhance research and operational workflows
  • Develop full stack applications using TypeScript and Python with a focus on reliability and scalability
  • Integrate AI and LLM APIs to create automations and agentic workflows
  • Write production-quality SQL and manage relational databases
  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers to translate analytical needs into robust software solutions
  • Apply DevOps and CI/CD practices to ensure reliable deployment and system performance

Required Qualifications

  • 2-7 years of full stack software development experience
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and backend development
  • Strong experience with the T3 stack (TypeScript, Next.js, tRPC, Prisma) or very similar modern web technologies
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing production-quality SQL
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and DevOps or CI/CD practices
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science with GPA above 3.0
  • High work ethic, strong communication skills, and a self-directed approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI engineering, LLM APIs, or building automations and agentic workflows
  • Background in finance, fintech, or quant-adjacent environments, or a minor in a related quantitative field
  • Demonstrated interest in financial markets, investing, or data-driven domains such as sports analytics
  • Proven track record of building personal tools, side projects, or independent solutions outside of professional work

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range of $160,000 to $230,000, commensurate with experience and demonstrated impact. This is a full-time, on-site position in a collaborative environment that values ownership, curiosity, and continuous learning.
