Software Engineer (Mid-level to Staff+)
Job Summary
We are seeking unusually strong mid-level to staff software engineers to help build an AI platform that enables companies to run their business on intelligent agents. A user describes an outcome in plain English, and the system executes the work across their tools and systems.
You will contribute across product experiences, backend platform services, or core AI infrastructure. These are broad, hands-on individual contributor roles where you follow important problems wherever they lead, from user interfaces to distributed systems and production infrastructure.
We prioritize intelligence, first-principles reasoning, and strong computer science fundamentals over specific prior AI experience or exact technology matches.
Essential Functions
- Build user-facing product experiences across web, mobile, and other interfaces with clear, delightful interactions for working with AI agents
- Design and implement backend APIs and services for accounts, workspaces, permissions, billing, analytics, and third-party integrations
- Develop core AI infrastructure including agent orchestration, context management, execution environments, model serving, and cloud systems
- Own features or systems end-to-end from initial concept through polished production deployment and ongoing operations
- Prototype rapidly, incorporate customer feedback, and evolve ideas into reliable, scalable software
- Improve system correctness, security, reliability, performance, and operational simplicity in production
- Work across the full stack and collaborate across team boundaries to solve the most important problems
Required Qualifications
- Strong computer science fundamentals with clear frameworks for problem solving and first-principles reasoning
- 3+ years of experience shipping high-quality production software with ownership after launch
- Proven track record building and debugging complex systems across frontend, backend, or infrastructure
- Experience owning systems in production with focus on reliability, security, and operational excellence
- Ability to work effectively in a high-autonomy startup environment
- Motivation to deliver highly usable products that drive real business outcomes
- Track record of progression and impact in prior technical roles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at highly selective technology companies or well-known startups with clear technical impact
- Background in selective environments known for technical rigor
- Founding experience or demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving settings
- Prior success working on agent systems, developer platforms, or complex distributed infrastructure

Education & Certifications
BS or BA in Computer Science from a top undergraduate program required. Advanced degrees do not substitute for strong undergraduate CS fundamentals.
Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation ranging from $220,000 to $400,000 depending on experience, level, and location. Total compensation includes meaningful equity and strong benefits. Exact offer will be determined by candidate skills, experience, and interview performance.
