Backend-Leaning Full Stack Engineer
Job Summary
We are building the continuous improvement infrastructure for enterprise AI agents. This role will help create a closed-loop system that turns production failures into signals for ongoing enhancement of both agent knowledge and performance.
As a backend-leaning full stack engineer, you will focus primarily on building robust backend systems for evaluation, data modeling, and enterprise integrations while also owning features end-to-end to the product surface.
You will have significant ownership in a small, highly technical team working directly with enterprise customers in a fast-paced startup environment.
Essential Functions
- Build backend systems powering agent evaluation and continuous-improvement platform
- Improve data models for evaluation datasets, experiment runs, agent traces, knowledge versions, findings, and quality criteria
- Own enterprise integrations end-to-end including authentication, OAuth, webhooks, incremental syncs, backfills, rate limits, schema changes, retries, monitoring, and production support
- Take features from technical design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, customer feedback, and iteration
- Work directly with customers to understand their systems, diagnose failures, and turn one-off requirements into reusable product capabilities
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience as a backend-leaning full-stack software engineer
- Strong skills in Python and TypeScript
- Experience building production systems for enterprise customers
- Experience at an early-stage startup with real ownership
- Full-stack experience, comfortable owning features across frontend and backend
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Currently based in the SF Bay Area or willing to relocate
Preferred Qualifications
- Background as a founder or active participant in hackathons
- Prior experience with agent evaluation, LLMs, or evals/QA systems
- Experience working with relational databases and vector databases
- Self-managed with high agency and a scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $120,000 to $200,000 depending on experience and qualifications. This is a full-time, on-site role in San Francisco.
