Founding Technical Recruiter
Job Summary
We are seeking a Founding Technical Recruiter to be the first dedicated talent hire at a Sequoia-backed Series A AI infrastructure company. This high-impact role owns end-to-end technical recruiting with a strong focus on outbound sourcing and closing exceptional engineers in New York to support rapid scaling. You will build recruiting infrastructure from the ground up, conduct initial technical screens, and partner directly with founders in an intense, in-office environment.
Essential Functions
- Own end-to-end technical recruiting with heavy emphasis on outbound sourcing to fill 4-5 engineering roles per month
- Source candidates creatively across LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Twitter, and Reddit
- Conduct initial technical screens evaluating language experience, AI background, and overall fit
- Build recruiting infrastructure from scratch including ATS setup, sourcing workflows, interview processes, and candidate experience
- Collaborate in-office daily with founders and hiring managers on real-time hiring decisions and calibration
- Balance recruiting efforts between New York and London offices with immediate priority on New York engineering growth
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience sourcing and closing engineering hires at high-growth tech startups
- Proven success recruiting engineers at early-stage startups (Series A or B)
- Experience sourcing and closing ML, infrastructure, or backend engineering roles
- Expert-level outbound sourcing skills beyond LinkedIn including GitHub, Twitter, and Reddit
- Ability to conduct technical screens for engineers on languages and AI relevance
- Experience building recruiting operations from scratch including ATS, pipelines, and scorecards
- Must be able to work on-site in New York City five days per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a solo or founding recruiter at an early-stage startup
- Track record of closing multiple hires per month in unstructured environments
- Strong builder mindset with entrepreneurial drive
- Previous success in fast-paced, high-intensity startup settings

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $160,000 to $210,000 plus significant equity. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage along with unlimited PTO and professional development opportunities.
