Engineering Director, Agent Context
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive strategy, execution, and growth for our state-of-the-art AI context platform.
This role sits at the center of our mission to make our platform continuously smarter through usage, combining human insight with automated learning in a new development lifecycle for AI agents.
You will lead multiple teams tackling foundational challenges in agent reasoning, context management, human-in-the-loop systems, and ecosystem integration for a product used daily by tens of thousands of professionals.
Essential Functions
- Lead an organization of multiple engineering teams responsible for the AI context platform
- Directly manage line-level engineering managers, technical leads, and senior individual contributors while maintaining a high performance bar
- Recruit, hire, and grow a high-performing engineering team to at least 15 software engineers
- Define and drive technical strategy for the context platform, including architecture and roadmap decisions
- Review system designs and occasionally contribute hands-on code to accelerate critical initiatives
- Address foundational AI challenges such as failure detection in agent reasoning, business context management, and integration with broader AI tools
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years leading engineering teams on complex, data-intensive, or AI-driven SaaS platforms
- Proven experience scaling multi-level engineering organizations in fast-paced environments
- Strong track record building and shipping AI-native or agentic platforms within the last two years
- Demonstrated success recruiting and developing exceptional engineering talent
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical contribution when needed

Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $262,000 to $348,500, depending on experience and location. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in our New York City office.
