Founding Recruiter & People Ops Associate
Job Summary
As the first dedicated people hire at a fast-growing cybersecurity startup, you will build the entire people function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own full-cycle recruiting while establishing foundational people operations, culture initiatives, and internal processes as the team scales from 15 to 30+ employees.
Essential Functions
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for engineering and sales roles, targeting 8-10 hires by year-end
- Design and implement onboarding programs, recruiting playbooks, and core people policies including expense, parental leave, and offboarding processes
- Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and open enrollment activities
- Build and drive company culture through team events, rituals, and office management
- Partner closely with the CEO on hiring decisions and people strategy
- Create structure and scalable processes in an environment with no existing playbook
Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in recruiting, people operations, or HR
- Minimum 1 year of startup experience in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Demonstrated ability to build people or recruiting processes from scratch
- Strong organizational skills with a process-oriented mindset
- Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco 5 days per week
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and handling tasks of any size or scope
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-cycle recruiting experience, especially in engineering and sales
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup scaling from small to mid-size teams
- Background building HR infrastructure and policy frameworks
- Experience managing benefits and payroll processes

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $110,000 to $145,000, plus meaningful equity in a high-growth cybersecurity company. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative on-site work environment in downtown San Francisco.
