Quality Engineer

Longmont, Colorado Direct Hire $90,000 - $115,000

Job Summary

The Manager of Supplier Quality will partner with suppliers, operations, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and maintain compliance with quality standards. This role oversees inspection personnel, tracks supplier metrics, manages MRB processes, and ensures inspection plans remain current and effective. The position requires a quality professional with hands-on experience in supplier management and receiving inspection oversight.

Essential Functions

  • Manage receiving inspection personnel including timecard review, assignments, and efficiency tracking
  • Monitor supplier performance through monthly and quarterly metrics, scorecards, and corrective actions
  • Conduct supplier on-site visits, audits, and participate in supplier status calls
  • Create and maintain receiving inspection plans with necessary updates and clarifications
  • Manage MRB and scrap processes, directing defect dispositions and guiding internal teams
  • Maintain supplier records in the ERP system including MSL ratings, notes, and risk assessments
  • Support customer visits, third-party audits, management reviews, and customer QBRs
  • Act as SME for AS9102 reports and support internal audit and CAPA processes

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with Aerospace Standard for First Article Inspection (AS9102)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, facilitation, listening, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years working in an electronic manufacturing environment, preferably contract manufacturing
  • 5 years of previous quality experience
  • Experience assisting with process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Experience with Mil-STD 883, IPC 600, and IPC 610 standards
  • Experience in or ability to become SME for PCB manufacturing

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $90,000 to $115,000 annually.
