Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Powertrain Engineer with 3+ years of experience to own the design, integration, and improvement of high voltage drivetrain systems with a primary focus on electric motors. This hands-on role involves working across the full product lifecycle from concept through production in a fast-moving hardware team environment.

Essential Functions

  • Own the design and development of HV drivetrain systems, with primary focus on electric motors, inverters, and motor control strategies
  • Select, characterize, and qualify motors and inverters for traction and auxiliary applications, including supplier evaluation and bring-up
  • Perform hands-on work with drivetrain hardware including designing, building, and integrating systems
  • Drive safety case development and validation for drivetrain and HV components, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and relevant HV safety standards
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver a reliable, high-performance drivetrain

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 12 years of experience in electric motor systems, inverters, and drivetrain engineering
  • Electric motor and drivetrain design experience at an EV company
  • Experience taking HV drivetrain hardware from concept through production
  • Startup or small-team environment experience
  • Hands-on expertise with PMSM, BLDC, or induction motors and inverter hardware
  • HV power electronics experience including DC/DC converters, motor drives, and SiC/IGBT
  • Motor control theory knowledge including torque/speed control and encoder feedback

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cross-functional collaboration experience across firmware, thermal, and manufacturing teams
  • Experience with supplier evaluation and component qualification processes
