Lead Harness Engineer
Job Summary
Lead harness engineering efforts for an electric vehicle platform, owning design through production release of wire harness systems. Translate electrical schematics into manufacturable designs that meet automotive standards. Serve as the primary expert helping the team implement and adopt new harness engineering tools during a critical production ramp phase.
Essential Functions
- Own end-to-end harness design from schematic capture through production release
- Lead adoption of new harness engineering software as the internal subject matter expert
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on 3D harness routing, bend radii, and packaging strategy
- Develop and maintain harness drawings, splice diagrams, connector face views, and wire lists
- Support prototype vehicle bring-up, integration testing, and field issue diagnosis
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 10 years of automotive wire harness design and release experience
- Hands-on harness design ownership at an automotive or EV company
- Proficiency in Zuken E3.series for schematic capture and harness engineering
- Working knowledge of CATIA for 3D harness routing
- HV and LV harness design experience including connectors, wire selection, and shielding
- Experience mentoring team members on tools and processes
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at an EV company such as Tesla, Rivian, or Lucid
- Startup or low-volume hardware development environment background

Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
Compensation & Benefits
$170,000 to $220,000 annually
