Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary
This role focuses on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for metal fabrication and assembly operations. The Manufacturing Engineer leads continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring production methods meet safety and quality standards. The position combines hands-on process development with project leadership to drive efficiency across production lines.
Essential Functions
- Maximize efficiency, quality, and productivity of existing production lines using value stream mapping and engineering principles
- Collaborate with product designers to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability
- Lead equipment and facility-related projects from planning through execution
- Develop sequences of operation and work instructions for production processes
- Train production associates as processes are modified and improved
- Estimate production costs and develop manufacturing plans for new or modified products
- Determine production capacities and manpower requirements for each department
- Identify production problems and implement corrections to improve shop efficiency
- Work with maintenance teams to ensure processes remain reliable and available
- Conduct technical investigations related to ergonomic issues and safety concerns
Required Qualifications
- BS in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent field
- Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing facility, preferably metal fabrication
- In-depth training and experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities
- Experience with Six Sigma methodology, preferably Green or Black Belt level
- High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
- Experience managing facility-related activities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems
- Willingness to travel domestically 25-50%

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $90,000 to $100,000 annually.
