Manager, Manufacturing Quality Engineering
Job Summary
Lead and build the quality engineering function at a fast-growing hardware manufacturer. Own end-to-end quality strategy across assembly and production operations, manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors, and partner with global suppliers to establish quality systems and processes from the ground up.
Essential Functions
- Build quality management systems, control plans, and inspection processes from scratch including IQC, IPQC, and end-of-line frameworks
- Manage a team of quality engineers and inspectors, set standards, and drive accountability across the quality function
- Own global supplier quality relationships including regular calls with contract manufacturers and suppliers
- Lead root cause investigations, MRB meetings, CAPAs, and SCARs to drive continuous improvement across production
- Partner cross-functionally with Design, Manufacturing, and Production leadership to ensure quality is built into every stage
Required Qualifications
- 7-15 years of experience in manufacturing quality engineering within automotive or hardware
- 2+ years managing or leading a quality engineering team
- Experience building quality systems and processes at a startup or early-stage manufacturer
- Deep expertise in IQC, IPQC, EOL inspection frameworks and quality control plans
- Experience with FMEA, SPC, GD&T, MRB, CAPAs, SCARs
- Experience managing global supplier quality
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive or relevant hardware experience focusing on quality measurement systems
- Strong startup experience building infrastructure in fast-paced environments
- Comfortable working in chaotic environments and creating structure where none exists

Education & Certifications

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 - $175,000. Details on additional benefits available during the interview process.
