Manufacturing Engineer
Job Summary
This Manufacturing Engineer II role focuses on optimizing production processes to support safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing. The position drives operational excellence through process improvement, performance metrics, and enhanced product flow while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
- Apply engineering principles to manage and maintain production of new and existing products including design changes and improvements
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering projects
- Design and develop production processes, fixturing, and equipment
- Develop and optimize work instructions and procedures
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Develop value stream maps, standard work, routings, capacity analysis, and line layouts
- Utilize Lean concepts to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve material flow
- Conduct and participate in Kaizen events and train line workers on Lean principles like Kanban and one-piece flow
- Identify root causes of manufacturability issues and implement corrective actions
- Interface with Production, Quality, design engineers, and suppliers to resolve issues
- Communicate findings and present ideas to all levels of the organization
- Participate in design reviews to assess manufacturing feasibility
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years experience in an advanced high-mix manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering degree
- Strong understanding of Lean principles including Value Stream Maps, 5S, and Kaizen
- Hands-on problem-solver with ability to multi-task and maintain quality and timeliness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 2+ years experience implementing Lean methodologies including 5S, Kaizen workshops, Standard Work, and Kanban systems
- 1+ year experience with project management methodologies and leading cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years experience as a manufacturing engineer
- Lean Bronze certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with SAP and/or MS Dynamics
- SolidWorks experience
- Visual Basic programming experience
- CMM programming experience

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range of $110,000 to $125,000. Great benefits package with on-site nurse facility available for family use.
