Essential Functions
- Design and rapidly prototype custom hardware such as leader arms for teleoperation, data collection devices, and custom assemblies on a days-to-weeks timeline
- Own actuator design, integration, and FEA analysis for end-effectors and robotic arms handling industrial loads
- Context-switch between short-horizon prototyping tasks and longer-term projects such as custom arms and actuators
- Collaborate cross-functionally with ML, electrical, and deployment teams to translate manipulation requirements into working hardware
- Build and iterate on grippers, fixtures, tooling, and full robot assemblies from concept through deployment in industrial environments
Required Qualifications
- 0-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering for robotics, actuators, or hardware products
- Strong CAD proficiency with SolidWorks, Onshape, or Fusion 360
- Hands-on fabrication experience including 3D printing and CNC machining
- Experience taking mechanical designs from concept through manufacturing and deployment
- Portfolio showcasing personal or independent hardware projects
