Engineering Manager, Frontend Platform
Job Summary
Lead a senior team of frontend platform engineers building the core foundations for high-throughput, low-latency AI products used in clinician-facing experiences like ambient capture, real-time note generation, and clinical workflow integrations. Your work ensures fast, resilient, accessible interfaces that maintain provider trust and improve documentation quality during live patient encounters. This role suits leaders who have scaled frontend platforms for complex, real-time products and want to enable multiple product teams to deliver with speed and safety.
Essential Functions
- Lead and grow a senior team of frontend platform engineers supporting AI-driven clinician experiences
- Set technical and execution standards in a high-bar, healthcare-grade environment
- Coach engineers on scope ownership, technical decision-making, and cross-team influence
- Own planning, execution, and delivery for platform initiatives with clear product impact
- Lead architecture for real-time and async workflows including audio capture and AI state transitions
- Build and scale shared UI primitives, component libraries, and design systems
- Improve frontend performance, latency, reliability, and offline/poor-network behavior
- Partner with product, design, backend, ML, compliance, and security teams to define standards and contracts
Required Qualifications
- 7-15 years of engineering experience with 3+ years managing frontend, platform, and/or mobile teams at fast-growing tech scale-ups
- Experience owning frontend platforms and managing mobile engineers or leading projects involving offline mode, audio chunking, live encounters, or connectivity
- Managed teams at fast-growing, reputable tech scale-ups similar to pre-IPO stage
- Strong technical fundamentals on frontend including UI infrastructure, design systems, TypeScript, and React, plus mobile frameworks
- Experience in highly regulated industries or building scribe-based/note-taker products
- Proven ability to handle early-stage chaos, ship daily, and drive work from ideation to implementation
- Strong cross-functional stakeholder alignment skills including saying no when needed

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 annually, depending on experience and location, plus comprehensive benefits package for a growing healthcare tech organization.
