EHS Specialist
About the Role
Support EHS initiatives at a manufacturing facility with rotating machinery, cutting tools, heat bars, and industrial ovens. Handle environmental permit compliance, assist with safety programs, and contribute to safety culture across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Assist with environmental permit reporting; maintain compliance documentation for air and water permits
Safety Support: Conduct hazard assessments for machinery, thermal, and chemical hazards; support OSHA compliance efforts
Incident Management: Participate in incident investigations, track safety metrics (TRIR, DART), identify trends
Training and Documentation: Deliver safety training, maintain records, assist with SOP development
Emergency Response: Support emergency planning and drills; assist with facility safety inspections
Early-career engineers with strong fundamentals are welcome. This role offers a solid foundation and growth opportunities in EHS and compliance work.
This is a full-time, on-site direct hire role in Vanceburg, KY.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- 2+ years of EHS/manufacturing experience
- OSHA compliance knowledge (1910 standards, recordkeeping)
- Environmental permit and regulatory reporting experience
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with machinery and chemical exposure
- CSP, ASP, or CIH certification preferred
- Manufacturing or industrial facility experience preferred
- Environmental permit management background preferred
